A Tribute to The Boston Show Band and Their Journey Into Glam Rock as The Glitter Band - Still Going Strong With Founders John & Harvey

History Of The 1960’s - Part 7

notes_038

The Boston Showband mainly played covers of well known songs from the period in their own inevitable style. If you were lucky enough to have seen or heard there records as diverse as Bang Bang Lulu to Yummy Yummy Yummy and rock around the clock.

So you think being a rock star is easy !.. Well think again, it’s great to be passionate and enjoy your work, but the hardships that can go with it can take their cut out of your life and those early days were long hours and little pay . A typical day  for them would include nine forty-five minute shows per night with fifteen minutes break between each lasting until 6am each and every morning. This was typical of the festivals such as Lee La Leigh students Lachenfield festival which they performed at in September 1966.
